Boot Camp "The installer disc could not be found"

Hi,

So i'm attempting to load win7 onto my MAC. Thus far i have downloaded the .iso image off MSDN (throught my university, for all intents and purposes should be as legitimate as an off the shelf copy) and burned it to DVD as a bootable disc image. however for some reason when using Boot Camp im told "The installer disc could not be found"

There is data on the disc however when i go into the disc via finder it appears empty (no icons)... even though it is not (get info > xyzMB used)...

I know most people use parallels etc but if anyone has successfully accomplished a win7 install and knows where im going wrong it would be greatly appreciated... thanks

You can't install Windows from an .iso image on a mac.

on Mac - i just downloaded the .iso off MSDN then used the disk utility to burn it bootable on DVD-R. disk popped out. bootcamp, back up, disk in, partioning... restart, done. press option at start up to pick your weapon!

Correct. Worked fine with a Clean Disc and following the process as straight as mentioned above.

Hi guys, I'm having the same problem and I was wondering if it has to be a .iso file or I can just simply burn it as in .img file. Thanks! 🙂

where are you downloading the disk image from? what problem are you having? because the disk i burnt on a PC wouldnt work when i inserted into my mac. but then I burned it using disk utility and it was fine.

im pretty sure it doesn't matter .iso or .img

i recommend doing the whole process on your mac. and should be pretty straight 4wd 🙂

How did you find a disk with file size large enought to fit the .iso file? My file is about 3.52 gb while the disk is only 700 mb. Am I doing something wrong? Can I use a flashdrive instead?

Please tell me where I can download an ISO for Windows 8 enterprise that does not involve running an exe installation file for the download? I have a valid license.

Just download the file, then download winebottler. Then edit the file so it is a OSX file
