Black screen on ipad 2?

I have a big problem with my Ipad 2, since the last week i can't see anything on my screen? It doesn't fall or anything so I don't know what happen, do you already have this problem? When I press the power buttom or the menu bottom, the only thing I saw it's my screen it's kind of illuminated but it's all black.😕

I tried to restore it with no sucess, when I plugged it on my laptop i can saw that my Ipad respond and i can heard the sound on my ipad when i plugged it to my laptop, I can sync it but I can't see anything on my screen either. If you already got a similar problem, please give me suggestions or anything, I don't know what to do with it anymore 😟 .

Thank you!!!!

I just had the same problem, and i just have 6 months with my i pad 2. I havent drop it or anything, i always take good care of it, cuz i also live far from where i bought it. anyways, last night i turned it off, like i sometimes do before going to sleep. this morning when i turned it on, the apple symbol appeared and a phrase that said : checking blocks, 45, etc, and then the screen went black. I saw that the screen showed some light and the ipad was a little hot, and so i knew it was still on. it wasnt working, then i read this comment, and i hold the home and lock button for 10 seconds and it then suddenly it did work!!! SHOULD I NOT TURN OFF MY IPAD, SO THIS DOESNT HAPPEN AGAIN?

I jUST WANT TO KNOW FROM THE TECH GROUP HERE IN APPLE STORE, IF THIS THAT HAPPENED SUDDENLY, IS NORMAL OR BAD AND IF I NEED TO GO TO AN APPLE STORE, that is 2 hours from where i live, TO CHECK THIS. IS THIS A MALFUNCTION? WHY DOES THIS HAPPENED>? LIKE I SAY I ONLY HAVE 6 MONTHS WITH IT.

I would really appreacite your answer, thanks

So, I too got the black screen of death as it has been referred to. I tried to reset, did a restore and still black. I took it to the Apple store where they told me that for $250 they could fix it for me. Seriously, $250 to fix a device that is only 10 months old. (My first one had touch screen issues so they replaced it with a new one but the warrantee on the device begins from the original date of purchase, not the actual age of the device.) I was (and still am) extremely frustrated with the response from the Apple store. I have several Apple products and have not had the problems with any of them that I have had with the i-pad. Anyway, I decided to try the drop fix technique and it worked! The black screen of death has been defeated...for the moment.

My current ipad is one they replaced due to touch screen issues. Even though the device itself is only 10 months old, the team member at the Apple store said that the warranty begins on the original date of purchase, not the age of the device. He also proceeded to tell me that I should have bought the extended warranty and then I wouldn't have any problems. I find it totally unacceptable that Apple doesn't stand behind its product. I think a $600 device should last longer than 10 months.
