no signature sound when restarting imac
I lost the signature sound when booting up my imac running 10.7.3. any solutions or insights will be appreciated.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Open System Preferences and click on Sound, then click on the Output tab. What is the Output volume set to? Is the mute box checked? Are the internal speakers listed as the output device?
Try changing the speaker volume, close System Preferences, then restart the system. Does the startup sound return?
If the startup sound still isn't present try resetting the PRAM by holding down the command-option-P-R keys after powering on the system. Wait for the system to restart twice before letting go of the keys. For more info refer to this article:
