Is iCloud down?

Is iCloud down? Outllook client says server dropped the connection or unreachable. ICLOUD.COM comes back with an error to when i tried to access my email.

The email servers are currently down, and not accessible. No traceroute nor ping requests are answered at the current time.

All other iCloud services should work as usual. (Address Book, Photostream etc.)


As i can tell from telephonic support, they are working on the problem. Just be patient.

Geez, I can't believe we are going through "MobileMe" all over again!! It took almost 2 years for Apple to get that right!! Why go with a new data center and servers???? Why didn't they just ask AMAZON S2 to run

their network and equipment for them? Apple is the "It just works company"... except for MobileMe

or icloud! Learn from the last time... Reality is I only have personal Email on icloud. I learned a long time

ago you can not rely on apple services as much as apple devices.


Even so, I wouid like my personal mail. Looks like I am heading back to my own IMAP server.

Where? Of course I will house it on Amazon's Data center.


I wonder how much technical talent left when Steve passed away?


So tired of this. Worse, NO UPDATES, no Status System. = Poor Service Company.


I didn't pull my invenstments out of Apple as I have done so well. But I don't want to get

greedy, and I think it is time....

I stand corrected! There is a Status!!


"users have been impacted. Users were unable to access icloud mail.

The problem has been resolved". as of 9:59PDT.


Well, that was 20 mins ago, and I still can not authenticate, and

the password is in my keychain!!! I know it isn't wrong....


Great service!!


It is Broken is announced after it is resolved, but not truly resolved.

I still see others unable to get to the servers....


The Apple is not rotten.

I have been on vacation the past week, got back into the US on Saturday and no mail. iCloud keeps telling me that my username/password are not correct yet I know that they are. Like many have mentioned, I still have Calendar, Contacts and reminders seem to work and are sync'ing. However, with the email competly down for me for it seems the past 3-4 days, this is a jolt to my confidence in the email poriton of iCloud. I'm a left over from the original Mobile Me "out of service email" a couple of years ago. I just cant make my iCloud my go to primary email account.


Now Apple, you have the most money of anyone in Tech and for that matter any corporation in the world. Please fix the email issue with iCloud and try to get some confidence going in this product that is been coined as "the cetner of my digitial life".


Now that I have that off my chest, what do we do from here? I'm not going to change passwords if the issue is just with email.
