having problem sending mail with attachment bigger than 10MB

I seem to have problem sending mails with attachment bigger than 10MB. Any suggestion to go round this issue?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Most all email providers, whether your ISP or something like Google, have a limit on the size of emails. 10MB sounds about right as that is what my ISP allows.


Your only option it to try to comprress it or setup a account with somnething like iShare it, or whatever those services are called where you upload a file and then send a link to it so someone can download it.

Absolutely. Don't do it.


The Mail protocol was never designed for files this size. Transfer your file in some other way—there are plenty. Dropbox, Mediafire, RapidShare, Skype, iChat, good old FTP…
