my macbook pro battery is going down 1% every 3 mins

i just bought my macbook pro not long ago. around 2months?

and my battery is going down really quick. 1% every 3 mins and i only have firefox on and my backlight is turn off. my brightness is turn on to the middle.

i was looking at my friends macbook. doesnt seem to be going down so quickly.

what is wrong with it?

Then I would suggest going to your nearest Apple Store, talk to someone at the Genius Bar and let him/her know your concern. They might have a solution or offer suggestions that may not have been covered on here.


The Flash fix might help, but as TeenTitan mentioned, it might get tiring having to click on the Flash message all the time.

Another thought is the heating situation of your laptop. Are you working in a way that the laptop might be overheating by not allowing some air circulation underneath? Without sufficient breathing room, the fans may have to work harder than usual and that might shorten a battery charge, even if just a bit. Try raising the hinge side of your laptop with an object to allow air to circulate underneath and see if that affects your battery use. If it does give you a little more length in time than before, then I would recommend working in a way that allows the laptop to stay as cool as possible underneath.
