Hey guyz i am using an iPhone 4s and i am experiencing the same problem..i usually text and play games while the phone is charging.Yesteday while i was doing so my sis came and patted on my sholder and said she felt a vibration aNd that it was a shock..i argued with her coz i didnt experience anything. Immediately she called all my family members and they all felt the same thing while i was holding the iphone. Then when i tested it using a tester it was true current was passing through the metallic side 😼.i even went to my neighbours house which was completetely rewired 2 months back to see if it was a prob with my wiring..but thr also the same thing.Today i immediately contacted apple regarding this and they asked me not to use the iphone until their engineers checked it 😝.i do wear slippers at home i think that was y i didnt experince it.I alwas had a pricking sensation on my fingers wihile using it while charging but i though it was bcoz of the way i holded the phone.for the past 5 months i didnt knw abt it

I think this problem may occur if your power sockets are not properly earthed. I had this problem when visiting my family home at the weekend. My Grandfather built the house himself in the 50s and has always done his own (non-standard) electrical wiring. An electrician who recently fitted a power shower refused to use the existing system because it wasn't earthed correctly.

The problem is almost certainly the electrical wiring not your iPhone.

I have the same problem, I worked out why.

I get shocks whilst I am charging my 4s, and the reason why is that I charge with an iPad charger, not the phone charger, which is a little more 'punchier'.

I could fix it by switching to the original phone charger but I am quite happy charging with iPad rather than constatntly switching, (the iPhone charger is a pain to get out of the wall in my hard to reach place)

Since as long as i remember I would have this problem in two places I lived in and on a train. On the train from Coventry to London my elbow would get a bad shock on the metal seat while holding the phone.

I took the phone back to Apple and they replaced it, I am getting it again, totally Apple cable and plug, the cable is brand new and our electrical work is certified by an electrician.
