Digital counter (odometer) effect

Hi Folks.

Does anyone know if I can animate a digital counter/odometer that accurately counts up from 0 to whaterver (actually $30,000) at high speed. I know there's a livefont digital counter but I can't control the 'counting' and the numbers are too random.
If it can't be done natively is there a plugin that I can get.

many thanks
Roger

You might be able to kluge together something from the ideas here:

Patrick's FCP plug-in is very helpful. You can get a leading "$", but I think you're up the creek in terms of anything more complicated than an unformatted integer (ie., if you set the FCP Timecode Generator filter format to frames, you'll get 22371, say, as opposed to 22,371)

Hope it helps.

I didn't reply originally since I don't know of a way to do it in Motion directly, but if you go down the fxscript route using FCP/FCE there are some other alternatives that you might be able to tweak to get to work:

clock filter from TMTS

FCE Counter

The Motion plugin language (FxPlug) looks a lot trickier to me than Fxscript, so don't hold out on Joe Blog coming up with a plugin. I figured out fxscript enough for me, but Fxplug just looks utterly confusing.

EDIT: Ignore this. Just seen that you've got it sorted
