iPad 5.1 disconnects itself from wifi?

I have just bought the iPad and it came with the latest version iOS 5.1 and ever since I got it the wifi would just disconnect on it's own. I believe this is a software issue I tried restoring it to factory setting 2 times just to make sure and the ploblem would always come back. I went to my friends house and he updated his iPad and the same ploblem would happen when he updated to ios 5.1 also he didn't have this issue when he was in 5.0.1 . Apple can you please fix this ,but in the mean time is there something I could do to avoid this since I use my iPad a lot for work.

P.S.

Is this ploblem also in the iPod touch 4g I'm afraid to update it to 5.1 it's running well in 5.0.1 .

Okay, I have this EXACT issue and I too am afraid to upgrade my iTouch. Yesterday, it dropped the WiFI, bombed, made me reset and download the "latest' OS and since then, NO wifi, and it goes into a constant cycle of bombing and wishing to recover. I made a support appt for Saturday -- the soonest that I can take off work -- and I am SO ****** OFF.

No, all of my other devices are fine, just fine, even the iTouch -- which I shan't sync or upgrade until my iPad is fixed. I have an iPad version 1, thought that was the issue, but now I am sad for those folks with newer iPads that have this issue. Why did they make us do this upgrade (forced on me after the bombing when it made me restore...)

I had Wi-Fi dropouts and poor performance issues with my new 64GB iPad3. I took it back to the Apple store where I purchased it and the tech there did a "deep" system restore. This had no effect. Then on the iPad Forum today, someone posted this article:

http://appadvice.com/appnn/2012/04/reported-ipad-wi-fi-problems-could-be-softwar e-related

The article basically tells you to go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network and then Confirm. The iPad will reboot.

Since I've performed this reset, I have had no dropouts and signicantly improved performance.

In my opinion this is a software issue and this is why i have not bought my iPad 3 to the apple store. Why I say so? Because AFTER i bought my new iPad and experienced the Wifi issue I updated my iPad 1 to iOS 5.1 and right after that it started experiencing the same issue as the iPad 3. Prior to the update my iPad 1 used to work flawlessly

I have this exact disconnection issue with my Fios provided free router... Have many fixed access points, an iPhone 3G, iphone4, and two X boxes. all have stable connections, never a problem. I used apple care to try resetting my router, my setting, I actually wiped me iPad twice, all to no avail. They offered in the store to swap it out - splendid! I came home, backed it up from the cloud, and voila, same issues. I can have period of longevity with the connection, matter I reset eithe my ipad2'connection, or my router, but it never last long. That was until.... Some bright fellow outnthere suggested I re-enter my wifi password and specifications, underm"Other"'where I'd be merely repeating myslef. Well...mums out its been pretty stable. Wake the kids and phone the neighbors I believe thatmfinemfellow has rectified me dropom problem for me poor ipad2. By george, is is find... Yes,,,,, yearly seems to be fixed
