iPad 5.1 disconnects itself from wifi?

I have just bought the iPad and it came with the latest version iOS 5.1 and ever since I got it the wifi would just disconnect on it's own. I believe this is a software issue I tried restoring it to factory setting 2 times just to make sure and the ploblem would always come back. I went to my friends house and he updated his iPad and the same ploblem would happen when he updated to ios 5.1 also he didn't have this issue when he was in 5.0.1 . Apple can you please fix this ,but in the mean time is there something I could do to avoid this since I use my iPad a lot for work.

P.S.

Is this ploblem also in the iPod touch 4g I'm afraid to update it to 5.1 it's running well in 5.0.1 .

Greetings to wonderful San Diego from cold Oslo...

Interesting. My case is different, though. My iPad (new) stays on without problems, as long as it is not turned off. When it has been turned off, or wi-fi deselected, I must log in again on the router with password and everything. My iPhone and iPad2 do not have that problem, they connect automatically again, as they should.

I'va had this problem with my iPad 2 since a couple of weeks. I have a TimeCapsule used as main wifi router and extended with a pair of airport express devices. I have other devices that are able to keep the wifi connection, this includes a pair of iPhone 4s. Only the iPad has this problem. the iPad may be connected for several hours, when the charge reaches 50 percent the connection drops when the iPad is not in use. The only way to reconnect it is by turning it off and turning it on again. Since I am under AppleCare support, I will have it checked.

I am having the same WiFi problems as the OP, but on my iPad 2. It didn't start happening until probably about two weeks ago. Every other device on my router stays connected with no issues at all. I've reset my iPad Network Settings like others have suggested and that seemed to work for a while. After the reset I didn't have any disconnects for a few days, but now it's started up again.

I tried another reset that got it connected again, but about 10 minutes later it dropped. To me it seems like a software issue, most likely with 5.1, because it started happening shortly after I upgraded. I hope Apple actually looks into the problem and issues a fix for it. The constant dropping is exrtemely frustrating.

I have round something interesting about this issue. I posted some days ago the problem I had with my iPad 2. The problem started when I changed the setting of the Time Capsule router. After I set it to support 802.11 a/b/n the iPad 2 started to have Wi-FI disconnections everyday. Now that I changed the router settings to work only in 802.11n mode the problem was solved. It seems that something in the iPad is not working well with the mixed network.

If you have this problem and your router is able to accept 802.11n-only mode, try it.
