Apple will let Logic die at some point in the far future.
Read the news... the world is abandoning Logic more each day.
That is sad! Wonder why is that so???!
Melodea,
THink about it the way these 'guys' are talking is just ...well.. illogical 😉
I know, you shouldn't give to much weight on "he says she says" but my entire music life is somehow based on apple logic including trainings which I give in different schools. Since the market is sooo fast and unpredictable these days and apples communication policy very restrictive I'm just wondering if I'm sitting on the rihght horse!?
+ Logic is for apple smaller than a peanut!!
When it comes to technology, pretty much anything could happen in "the far future".
Use what works best for you today.
Good one, P. Going right over the op's head I'm afraid.

You may confusing 'news' with 'vague rumors' here.
Some people seem to have some love/hate relationship with Logic, and fear that Logic has rejected them if she comes late to an appointment... :-) There has been three years between major Logic updates.
After the Logic 9 release, that's exactly what Apple has done, or at least that's what they have delivered to the users. No major feature-releases has been availble since July 2009 (except 64-bit in 9.1) , and today, some people assume that Apple only is working on bugfixes and stability improvements. Not only that, but a few also assume that there will be no more major Logic versions ever - just like some people assumed before 2009.
Melodea, maybe you meant 'near fuure', and not 'far future'?

Frightening.... isn't it?
As a side note...
The only people at or associated with Apple that know and understand how to program Logic are the original programmers, I have faith that we will not see Logic disappear or be diluted to the point of GarageBand Pro.
For one, there are too many new users.

C'mon on man, think bigger. "Read the news"... hint, hint
At this point, if Logic never added another feature, I'd still be quite happy. There is really not a whole lot else a music production platform really needs that cant be addressed by plugins etc. I'll just keep my mac pro tower and 9.1.7 on 10.6.8. Stable and efficient.
FUD = Fear, uncertainty and doubt.
People have been predicting the demise of Logic for ages now.
Yet it persists. It was recently added to the Mac App Store. Certified trainers are still training people on it. Millions of people use it.
And it's an awesome value at $199.
Millions? Sure, plenty use it, but that many is doubtful.
Logic is the #6 grossing app on the app store. I'd be surprised to see it go.
OK!? Didn't know that. That sounds promising.
