Logic is the #6 grossing app on the app store. I'd be surprised to see it go.

That's in US.

I just checked a few other countries by clicking on the flag icon in the App Store:

Canada: #4

Germany: #3

UK: #3

Italy: #5

France: #4

Sweden: #1

Japan: #2

Switzerland: #3

Spain: #6

Norway: #3

Denmark: #3

Australia: #4

New Zealand: #3

Austria: #2

I don't know that Logic needs to be frequently updated. It's already so deep that you can spend years just learning to work with what's there. It's probably better for the industry if Logic is a capable baseline DAW that works for a lot of people. Apple can let the private developers go after the bleeding edge users. There are only four features that I would really like to see from Logic. 1) Update EXS-24. 2) Update ES-2 by redoing the interface and enhancing wave sequencing. 3) Make it easier to create chained and linked instruments and effects like in Tracktion. 4 Better iimport of general midi sequences.

Okay, I thought of anoteher - a virtual modular synthesizer.

At this point, if Logic never added another feature, I'd still be quite happy. There is really not a whole lot else a music production platform really needs that cant be addressed by plugins etc. I'll just keep my mac pro tower and 9.1.7 on 10.6.8. Stable and efficient.

Yeah, that's pretty much my take on it at the moment, it works for me, so I'll keep my working system - I suppose its just that I'll have to change my machine in three or four years and find that it only accepts Lynx 14.2.9 and so on, but I suppose its pretty much been that kind of scenario for a number of years, realistically.. he he..
