apple tv only shows computers and settings

Go to setting==>iTunes store==>location

Change location to something else than whatever showing now.

once you have all your apps back you can set back your original location.

I tried this now i can't connect to the network at all. At least before it showed it was connected to the network and tested as a good connection.

I just had the same issue. Racked the forums, tried everything (reset ATV, reset internet, unplugged ATV, factory reset ATV, etc..) and eventually found the solution--for me, at least.

Settings > iTunes Store > Location

Changed it to UK, then changed it back to US, logged back into my apple id. Everything's back to normal.

Thank you all for the information. The electrician came to my house, turned off the switch to the area where my modem and router are connected to fix a light and my ATV started to do the problem that everyone is talking about. I did what Aliksandyr said "Settings>iTunes Store>Location"

Changed it to another country, then changed it back to US, logged back into my apple id and everything is back to normal.

Thank you all for the info. and for posting. I was ready to take back the apple tv to the store for them to figure this out.

I have done everything everyone else has done since this thread started in the last week....twice ...finally went back and changed my country to one I did not even recognize and the normal screen came up. I do not think this is a valid solution but I am so weary with it, I was determined to keep trying. I am going to keep it that way for now anyway.

Same thing here. I just decided to see what happens when I switch it back to the US from whatever county I had it on, and it still works. Whew. I had to connect my apple TV to my cell phone as a hotspot and then login to my apple ID and finally change my country after the myriad of other things I tried to fix it.

Please check carefully, I suspect it didn't work properly.

This is ******** apple. As of yesterday november 1st my Apple TV stopped working. Notice how all the replies in this thread are from 2012 until suddenly several new posts after November 1st 2016. Whatever this crap is it needs to be addressed. Get off your *** apple!!

Time to switch to Roku?

For what it's worth, I just experienced this issue and a Reset did the trick. A pain to enter my many passwords again, but it seemed to have worked at least for now.

Same issue here, unbelievably frustrating and ridiculous. Why, God, why does Apple want to become as dysfunctional as Microsoft?
