Excel sheet Read only

I have office 2011. I have an issue with excel sheet, whenever I make new excel sheet and save it. I cant write in this sheet next day, it becomes read-only file. then i have to make the new excel sheet. Is their anybody who can tell me, How to remove that read-oly tag from my excel sheet file.

hi there


well i have been having this issues with some of the users getting this read only problem.

So here it goes, microsoft needs to improve there coding!!


in my case and i say this it might not work for all of you, (well i hope it does) the users always were using the slash ie, myfile_from_20/09/2012.xlsx.


the solution that worked for me was to remove the slash and put a dash. now when they open it, it is no longer read only.

I don't have / in my file name, and it still happened. The file is not locked, and I read/write privileges for the file and the folder.


This Read Only issue occurs periodically for me. When it occurs, I am able to save the file under a new name in the same folder. I just can't use the original file name. This is really problematic for me.


Any other suggestions?
