ONLY Apple can tell you if they will do this.
No one else.
You cannot get a free one.
You may be able to buy a replacement at repair prices.
Please, make an appointment at the Apple store and talk to them. Asking the same question over and over here, is not of much use.
OK, you can get one for the Out of Warranty replacement price. You will get a 90-day warranty on the replacement, as long as you DON'T jailbreak it. A lot of problems can be avoided by not jailbreaking.
