Can my boss track my new iPhone 4s?
Is it possible for my boss to track my iPhone 4s without my approval? It's my phone and not a company phone?

So, as long as he doesn't have my Apple ID and password, h can locate me via my phone?
That's correct.
Incorrect. There are other ways to track any cell phone via the carrier. If his phone is using an employer provided service, they can track it.
hi glasstigerfan.
here's a link on this subject on the ACLU's site;

good luck.
Another way to track is through the downloadable app Find my Friends (by Apple). However this would require your boss to send you an invitation and you would have to accept or deny it, assuming you even had the app.
i have a company phone,and they pay the bills,i have a limit,if i go over that,i pay the difference.the people i work for have gone one better LOL...the vehicles we use are tracked.they can even tell,if you go over the speed limit.
i dont know american law,but in your circumstances,if this was in the UK,they would not be able to track you,by using your phone.

I was referring to Find My iPhone and that he would need to share his ID and password with his employer to track it through that particular servce. The legality and other methods can be argued by others as I'm not familiar with US employment law.
They can? Company vehicle and company phone within work hours, I think = legitimate tracking. I think they must inform the employee, (and I suspect that most companies that do hide these details in the contract small print somewhere).
vehicles...yes. mobile phones...no.the reason i say this,is because it would be too costly for mobiles,compared to vehicles.and as you correctly stated,they have to inform the employee,which they did in our case.
Mobile tracking is not as costly as you think. Especially when a company has a large corporate account.
