Macbook Pro + Dell U2410 Accurate Calibration problem

I'm having a hard time calibrating my U2410 with my new MBP13. I use Spyder 3 Pro to calibrate.

Problem is:

sRGB and Adobe RGB modes on the monitor have same extreme saturation. This wasn't the case when I was using it with my Dell Studio laptop.

So I used the Custom mode. This seems much better balanced but still I think some colours are dull and some are too intense. Greys are perfect though. Since sRGB and Adobe RGB modes both look intense/wide-gamut, is the monitor having compatibility problem with the MBP? I use Belkin mini Displayport to HDMI adapter, bought from Apple store.

Many others connect the same way and are getting proper calibration. Should I try mini Displayport to Displayport? I'm having a hard time finding this cable though. My graphics work is on hold because of this problem and its really frustrating. Can't afford an ACD right now.

Either I need to fix this or get a cheap IPS display that calibrates perfectly with current MBP13. Please help!
