Help! Ipod touch lost, need serial number. Can I get the serial number off of ITunes?

My iPod is missing, needing the serial number. Read in iTune support that the information is located in iTunes. Cannot figure out how to find it.

Any help is greatly appreciated

iPod touch, iOS 5

Yes, but as far as I know, only when the device is connected to your Mac.

The serial number is on the packaging material that contained your iPod when it was new. If you don't have that, check the receipt or other paperwork that the retailer used to sell you your iPod.

If you don't have the receipt either, contact the retailer with your iD and approximate purchase date. Many retailers keep detailed records that may include the info you need.

@frazzldmot when was the last time ur ipod was synced to computer?

if it was with in the last 30 days list will show ur ipod sn number with out ur ipod

Open iTunes without connecting your iPod touch. Hold the "Ctrl" key and click "Help" and "About iTunes" if you are using a Windows system, or click "iTunes" and "About iTunes" if you are on a Mac. If your iPod touch was the last device connected to iTunes, its serial number will scroll on the screen.
