Saving a Word doc to a flash drive...
I'm working on a Word document that I have saved to a flash drive. I would like to continue working on it at home (via my MacBook) but I'm not sure how to save it correctly to the flash drive. Please help!!??

Save it there normally. If it's not on the flash drive, drag it there in the Finder.

View the flash drive just like any other mounted drive.
Just to clarify, are you currently working on a Windows computer? And you want to bring it home to work on it on your Macbook? If so, just save it normally. Please clarify your question.
sc6051 has a valid point.
If you wish to write the file back to the USB stick after editing in Office for Mac, the USB stick will need to be formatted FAT32. (or exFAT if both systems are new enough)
That is the default format for most thumb drives, but if it's been formatted NTFS for Windows-only, the Mac won't be able to write to it without third-party software.
When you click " save as" you'll see a button that says "on my mac" when you click it it'll give you other options and you just choose your drive instead. Hope this makes sense.
