lifetime usage 25 days and I've had the phone less than 48 hours??

I just bought a new iphone 4s from Verizon. Under cellular usage it is reading LIFETIME 25 days??? I've had the phone less than 48 hours so how can my total call time be reading 25 days. Did I recieve a used phone? I can't seem to get an answer from the Apple Store or Verizon. I had an iPhone 4 so when I got home I restored my phone on iTunes. Someone told me that is why it is saying lifetime 25 days, that doesn't make sense to me and they gave no explaination.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Stedman, I have the same issue as overcomer103's initial posted issue, but just different quantities. My brand new iPhone showed 10.5 hours Cellular Call Time, just 2 hours after unboxing and activating it with a brand new sim card.

Your explanation doesn't apply to my situation, as the older existing iPhone from which I restored my brand new iPhone, had and showed 48 DAYS of Cellular Call Time. So, the preexisting iPhone's usage did NOT copy to my new iPhone.

Considering that, do you have any other explanation for this occurrence? Used iPhone sold as new is what sounds most logical.

2 people at Apple Care/Tech Support and 5 people at Apple Store couldn't think of any other explanation than that, so they offered to just replace my iPhone with another brand new one. I'd RATHER NOT go have to go through another iPhone to iPhone migration/restore/reactivation and the many hours of setup that comes with it. I'd much rather hear an explanation for the seemingly inaccurate Call Time reporting.

While it is impossible for me to determine with 100% certainty that your phone is new, I can say that the cellular usage does show the lifetime amount. My iPhone shows cellular usage of 3 days, after owning for approximately 1.5 years. From other posts on the forum, it appears this usage amount does transfer to a new unit. I haven't set up a second iPhone, so I don't have first hand experience.

Stedman,

Exchanged the phone and when I hooked it up to iTunes it did the same thing 25 day? I checked when I got it and all the numbers were zero. Our son has had his phone and uses it all the time and his lifetime hours are only eight. I think he's had his phone longer than I've had mine. Still not sure where the 25 days are cominging from.

Thanks again...
