To my knowledge, there is no way to set a Yahoo account to be manually fetched.
There is at Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Advanced.
Thank you! Guess I didn't look down far enough to see the Advanced setting, I stand corrected!
Thanks do understand now how it works. Just hoped I could have had one fetch when I launch the app and the other just push to my device without launching the app. Thanks for the exchange tip too about gmail.
Thanks for the credits Tommy, but it seems I was mistaken. Follow Allan's last post, you can set two Yahoo accounts up differently -- one as Push and the other as either Fetch or Manual.
If possible, see if you can rescind your problem as being "Solved" by me so that others do not get misinformation.
I know I did that I chose push for my main yahoo account and I chose Manuel for the other yahoo account but that one that's on manual still checks for mail even if I don't launch the app. That's why RockmyPlimsoul's answer made sense cause it doesn't work the way you say it. I tested it a trillion times. I tested another account, one thats not yahoo and supports push and put that one on manual and it worked as I expected. It didn't push or whatever it's called. It didn't notify me I have new mail till I launched the app.
You can absolutely set two yahoo accounts differently, like one push and the other fetch or manual. However they will both work the same way for example they both will push or they both will be manual no matter if they're set up differently. If you figure out something like what Allan was explaining please let me know. Thanks
What Allan describes above is exactly how it is supposed to work, so if you've already done that and it is not working, then either Yahoo or iOS is having a problem. In other words, if you're following the method you're supposed to be using and it's not working, then there's little you can do but wait for Yahoo (or Apple) to correct this. Given Yahoo's flakey e-mail performance, my suspicion is that it's on their side.
Thanks for your help it's, like you said its most likely a yahoo issue cause it wouldn't surprise me. I just wanted to be sure I was doing it right.
