Hi everyone

Even though I have read OSX does a pretty good job at it, my RAM is not refreshing properly. Problems can start 24 hours after starting my computer or one week. I haven't spotted programs that have a particualr tendency to mess up the system except Skype or Skype through Facebook.

I have a macbook pro 15'', 2GHz Intel Core i7

with 16 Go 1600 Mhz DDR3

OSX 10.7.5

I had the same problem before upgrading my RAM from 4 Go to 16 Go, now it just takes more time before I need to restart.

at the moment I have these infos about my RAM usage:

Wired 1.51 Gb

Active 3.10 Gb (from experience, this number is already too high when looking at which programs are opened)

Inactive 8.86 Gb

Free 2.52 Gb

internal HDD free space, 50 Go

Restarting solves everything, but I'm using this computer for VJing live and I cannot always restart just because this machine is temperamental.

I have read that programs that force to refresh RAM can damage the system.

So what can I do?
