iCloud email will not work...still. Solutions? Please.....I'm desperate!!!

My iCloud email account was slow earlier. Now it claims to be sending and receiving emails but I sent an email to myself two hours ago and it appears in the sent category but not the inbox. This is the same across three devices. My iPad does not show the same level of update as my iPhone. Really irritated by the fact that there is no way to use express lane for iCloud. You have to link it to a device. What if I didn't have a device? Have any of you with the same issue found resolution? Close to 16 hours with no acknowledgement of a problem and no sign of a solution. Curious as to how many with this issue are former MobileMe customers? Wondering if that's a factor?

Ditto. I started getting emails at around 9pm EST. I first got the ones that were sent at 9pm or later today, then all the ones that I missed yesterday started trickling into the mail box.

Needless to say, my productivity was shot for today. I will slowly start transitioning the important stuff to a more reliable provider like gmail. I will not be renewing my @mac in june. What happened today and yesterday is outrageous and I'd suggest all of you to do the same.

Mail working ok this morning with the exception of one icloud mail account which was asking for my password all the time and rejecting it. I came accross why when I reset my password for that account. For some reason Apple has changed the format settings for passwords and my old password did not have at least one Capital and one lower case letter in it.Password changed an all working OK now.

Apple please get your act together with you customer service and tell use whats going on. I for one have now setup a gmail account as my primary mail account as this experience has put me off using Apple mail.

I am experiencing the same thing. Last night I took some notes on my iPhone 4S last night and they showed up in my inbox but then I took some notes this morning and I expected them to later be on my iPad but they were not. I then went on to my computer and got a message "Enter Password for Account 'iCloud'". I typed it in and the error message came back up. I then went to the iPad and it said that my iCloud account password had not been entered. But when I put it in, it did sync some of my former notes to the iPad but not the ones that I had recently changed. Regardless, it is a really frustrating because I do rely on my products syncing for my work. It is embarassing to show up to a meeting with a client and not have the necessary notes.

I do not yet use iCloud due to having to move my iWeb site and numerous MobileMe galleries to other servers and hosts outside of Apple. So, my email is still on Mobile Me and my .mac account. But, I've been getting the same kinds of messages when I'm working in my mail... "Enter Password for MobileMe account," and something else asking for "Authenication" of something or other. There is also one that has something to do with the "Password Keychain." I went into MobileMe and changed my password across all devices, my iMac, and iTunes. That fixed me up for a while. But, this message keeps coming sometimes, and I'm getting tired of changing my password to get my mail to work. The whole thing is crazy, and seems to even be messing around with Mobile Me. Something's up with Apple... and I don't think it's a good thing. This makes me dread doing the iCloud thing.

One other note. Has anyone recently been forced to change their password on the MobileMe/iCloud account? It seems that Apple introduced (but did not announce) a higher minimum level of password security. The usual kind of thing. More than seven characters, at least one capital letter and one number. I figured this out because my password was rejected by iCloud mail and I was forced to change it. It was then that I realized that the previous password did not meet this new criteria. I changed the password an I was back up and running. Then I had to do the same in iTunes, iMessage, iChat, iTunes Connect, the developer forums, Facetime, Gallery, Aperture, iPhoto, AppStore, TimeCapsule and in System Preferences.

I'm thinking perhaps this wholesale chnge of the password system has something to do with this Authentication issue. Who knows. I'm all spinning pinwheel and Gmail right now.....

I think so, and it is affecting MobileMe, as well. What would it take for Apple to just post something about this on their site regarding this. Why do they leave us guessing and wasting time trying to fix stuff? They could just say, "We are now requiring that your passwords have blah blah." This is just not the same Apple that I knew and loved.

same here, the keychain is messed up - not just the email-accounts of which I wrote earlier... I deleted all the passwords from my keychain, and my things are working for the time being.

Need to wait for the fix. Relax and try not to get so frustrated. Apple is working on this, but it may not be that simple. They are ALWAYS tight-lipped about problems, so do not expect any public announcement this time either.

This forum is the best proof if you need to see how wide the problem is.
