New Security Questions

I was trying to make a few purchases from iTunes but was redirected to a page requesting that I set up security questions. I have no interest in making up fake answers to questions that I won't remember later on or in providing any real data about myself. If this is indeed being required by Apple and is not some type of malware attack how long before we can find a workaround so I can make my purchases?

Rather than jump through hoops I just bought the music from Amazon. I still need to find a solution before the next time I buy apps though.

Your not the only one I changed my password thinking I got it wrong and I did go into my I'd and change my seceret Question and Answer but no good since even though I saved it when I go on to the App store it still comes up with these questions for which I never choose and the answers as well.

This is stupid and why haven't apple done anything About it I sent then an email and they got back on how I change my question which still didn't do anything now I can't purchase apps. I don't get this with Google with Android on my Samsung Galaxy S2 just quick and easy purchase and download simple. Though saying so I hope google don't get the idea with some stupid question thing that prevents me purchasing

I got charged $1 from iTunes yesterday but I didn't purchase any music let alone apps because I can't get past the seceret questions part so why am I getting charged? Has apple been hacked and my credit card details stolen or what, it would explain these new seceret questions and my $1 charge when I never purchased anything this is a insult and a joke

Just got asked for three lame security answers for my iTunes account. How dare Apple impose this on it's users. I have become increasing frustrated at the arrogance of Apple and for me this is the final straw. Apple, if you read this and/or care, I am out.

I will not be replacing my iMac, MacBook pro, apple tv, iPod touch, iPad or iPhone with another apple product.

Apple you are alienating your customers. Do not forget, it wasn't so long ago that you were a broken company. You could return to that just as quickly as you have risen.

That is all...

Someone at Apple does NOT have their act together. It clearly states:

QUOTE
Change your security questions.

Select a security question or create one of your own. This question will help us verify your identity should you forget your password."
END QUOTE

There is NO WAY to create a security question of your own, that makes sense to one's self. You are forced to use these childish, elementary school kid questions as security questions whether you want to or not.

Apple, for all it's success and glory, can not even do a basic function like this correctly. Sick!

I am FURIOUS with Apple, about the new "3 Security Questions" requirement. What MORON dreamed up this system, and created questions that only apply to a 10 year old? WHY CAN WE NOT CREATE OUR OWN QUESTIONS?

I just installed the new iOS and tried to download the free Skype app for iPad. I clicked INSTALL and got the pop-up message telling me to set up 3 security questions. After looking at the 3 unbelievably stupid and juvenile sets of questions - NONE of which apply to my life (I don't even know in which city my parents met, and they're both DEAD, so I can't ask them!), I backed out and tried again to download Skype, selecting the option to set up the security questions "LATER."

Clicking THAT button caused the download to stop. Repeatedly. I finally went back in and tried to choose the 3 least stupid questions. When I finished, I got an error message telling me "my session had timed out." I started over again, clicking and typing as fast as I could. Same result. About 5 times. Then I got another error message saying that my "rescue" email can't be the same as my iTunes email address. After correcting that, my stupid "security questions" were accepted.

Of course, I'll never be able to access the iTunes Store again, because I won't remember the made-up answers I was forced to enter for the STUPID questions that don't apply to my life. I'm freaking 57 years old, Apple people. I don't have a favourite ANYTHING, and I sure as H don't remember the names of my elementary school teachers, or the toddlers I played with in the back yard. I've had MANY pets, and they were ALL my favourites. I've had many managers, and NONE of them were my favourites. GET A GRIP!

We should all start phoning iTunes Tech Support 5 times a week to report that we can't get in to give them our money, because we can't remember the answers to the stupid security questions we were forced to use.

This is waaayyy over the top for a store where purchases are typically one dollar or occasionally a couple of tens of dollars.

I honestly cannot answer the provided security questions. They don't make sense and are so trivial it is silly. How would one ever remember in two years from now?

And there is already a security question in place for my Apple ID! One that I could make up myself at Manage My Apple ID (https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/)

Why not use the Apple ID security for the multiple services like iTunes store where I login with my.... Apple ID?

It is either a case of project teams not talking to each other, or a project by some schoolkid apprenticeship that has slipped through.

I cannot buy or download anything until this problem gets fixed, or until I start making notes of my fake answers... counterproductive security.

And it's not healthcare or government accounts that we are talking about. Agreed they would require an extra layer of security, and they provide me with the possibility of making up my own questions. To use this procedure for iTunes store is just silly, Apple.

Workaround, just make up answers like:

....1

....2

....3

Well, you can guess what I would like to replace the dot with ... a four letter word ...

Or use a password of yours and just add 1/2/3.

I tried putting 3 times the same answer, does not work, so adding 1, 2, 3 is the way to go. Apple, you are the king of security :-)

Apple security could have helped me if they were tighter on support calls. My iPod Touch was stolen. The thief called Apple Support using my name and the stolen serial number. They asked if it could be resold. How much of my personal information can the thief get knowing my name and serial number?

The theft of iPhones and iPods is rampant. I will not buy another Apple product unless they provide more help and tools in finding crooks.
