I am FURIOUS with Apple, about the new "3 Security Questions" requirement. What MORON dreamed up this system, and created questions that only apply to a 10 year old? WHY CAN WE NOT CREATE OUR OWN QUESTIONS?
I just installed the new iOS and tried to download the free Skype app for iPad. I clicked INSTALL and got the pop-up message telling me to set up 3 security questions. After looking at the 3 unbelievably stupid and juvenile sets of questions - NONE of which apply to my life (I don't even know in which city my parents met, and they're both DEAD, so I can't ask them!), I backed out and tried again to download Skype, selecting the option to set up the security questions "LATER."
Clicking THAT button caused the download to stop. Repeatedly. I finally went back in and tried to choose the 3 least stupid questions. When I finished, I got an error message telling me "my session had timed out." I started over again, clicking and typing as fast as I could. Same result. About 5 times. Then I got another error message saying that my "rescue" email can't be the same as my iTunes email address. After correcting that, my stupid "security questions" were accepted.
Of course, I'll never be able to access the iTunes Store again, because I won't remember the made-up answers I was forced to enter for the STUPID questions that don't apply to my life. I'm freaking 57 years old, Apple people. I don't have a favourite ANYTHING, and I sure as H don't remember the names of my elementary school teachers, or the toddlers I played with in the back yard. I've had MANY pets, and they were ALL my favourites. I've had many managers, and NONE of them were my favourites. GET A GRIP!
We should all start phoning iTunes Tech Support 5 times a week to report that we can't get in to give them our money, because we can't remember the answers to the stupid security questions we were forced to use.
