I am not receiving verification email for appleid

Hello, I am trying to verify my new apple id. I have ensured that my email address is correct, and have gotten the notification, both from the Ipad and from a desktop that a verification email has been sent. But I have never received one. I would really like to be able to utilize this for work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I remember when Apple used to actually read these message boards and offer support. This is, after all, the "support" section....

Must agree here. Ten days ago (11/20) , when I received my iPad mini Retina, I had no problem getting a verification email. Starting yesterday when my wife's iPad Air arrived I have been unable to get the Apple ID system to send a verification email. This appears to be an ongoing problem. I really hope Apple gets motivated and fixes this problem--the sooner the better. My wife isn't happy that she can't FaceTime the grandkids on her new iPad Air.

This issue is most likely due to mail provider filtering, mail client filtering, and/or your email has already been used in some way with another Apple ID. If you have a @gmail.com email and you're not receiving the verification email, I'd recommend going to http://appleid.apple.com , choose "Manage your Apple ID," sign in, and choose to edit email addresses. Then edit the Apple ID name / email address to have some periods in the part before the @gmail.com. For example, you could change "exampleguy@gmail.com" to "example.guy@gmail.com" since it does not matter to Gmail if you have periods before the @gmail.com. An email sent to "exampleguy@gmail.com" and an email sent to "e.x.a.m.p.l.eguy@gmail.com" would both go to the same spot.

Couldn't be email filtering in my case. I have my own email domain and I am the administrator of my email. I have no spam filters in line. I also manage my email addresses carefully. I have a separate email address for iMessage and FaceTime for each of my six iOS devices and my three Macs plus a few spares.


It is clear to me that the problem resides within Apple's servers and that it is an intermittent one.

Same problem. Haven't recieved the verification email after repeated 're-sending'. I've checked my inbox,spam folder as well. I am also using a @gmail.com id and I tried putting a '.' in between but I have not received the mail. Funny thing is I am recieving other emails from Apple but not the one in which I can verify my Apple id.


Its been almost 4 hours now since I've waited. Solution will be highly appreciated. + I really hope Apple reads into this problem and finds a proper solution. Very unpleasant for new Apple users.

I'd recommend getting in touch with iTunes support to make sure your email isn't verified under a different Apple ID. Otherwise, the issue is probably on your end whether that be filtering from your mail host or a mail client application/program.


As far as those with Gmail accounts, you can try putting a period in the the part before @gmail.com and if you receive a verification email, that pretty much means your account without the period before the @gmail.com is verified under a different Apple ID.
