I just got a macbook air and am not happy with it because it does not fulfill what the salesman promised. I need to change to an iMac, what is the best way to do that without losing out too much money??

Sell your MBA then buy an iMac. In the future make your own decisions instead of letting a salesperson do that for you.
You have 14 days to return to the store. Pay the difference between the two and you have an iMac.
The 14 days "try out" is it good in Canada too? If so what apple do with the retrn one? Do the resale them as new?
You have 2 more days to find out. Many say 1 more day, as day of purchase counts. You may have no days left.
If you were waiting to ask "What would Apple do with the MBA I did not want?", you may have burned your chance to return it.

Check out the Apple Canada website. You should realize that this Apple policy is meant to allow an unhappy customer to return a product. It is not an open-ended invitation to buy a product, try it for 2 weeks and then return it, try another product and return it, and on and on...Too, if you buy from other than an Apple store, the return policy may be different - either longer or shorter.
