Why won't my mac accept my leapfrog connect password to update software?

I am trying to update new software through leapfrog connect. I open the icon on my mac and it asks me if I would like to install the new software. I select, yes, then it tries to start downloading, then a mac window pops up saying that leapfrog would like to make changes to my account so it wants me to enter my name and password. I try to enter in my leapfrog password, but the mac just window shakes not accepting it.... I have tried changing my password on leapfrog, but it doesn't make a difference. I have gone in and looked at the keychains to see if something may exist for leapfrog, but I don't find anything. If i just click ok on the mac window, it will disappear, but then the software update will unexpectedly quit. I am stuck, and I don't know what to do. Any help please? Thanks!

p.s. My software on my mac is up to date!

Do you know where I would look on my computer to look this up? I look under System preferences, user and groups, then me (I'm the admin) for the computer.. there's no password. I don't know where to look on my computer for an admin account for my computer... When I initially got this computer and they were setting it up, I didn't have them attach any passwords to anything.

Correct. If I click the lock to make changes in my user account, I just click 'unlock' and it unlocks because I never set up a password.

So, when I get this box that pops up when I am trying to download the software update for the leapfrog connect, I should be able to just hit 'ok' without entering a password and then the download should continue on. It doesn't. Leapfrog connect will just unexpectedly quit.

Okay, so I did that and try to download the software update... this time the mac window didn't pop up asking for my password, but now it tells me it is 'Updating... This should take several minutes" and it has been processing since about five minutes after your last message... There is no progress bar, so I don't know if anything is being accomplished, except that my computer is warmer than before. ha.
