MacMini Printing Problems

Hello:

Using an HP Photosmart Premium 410a with MacMini (Snow Leopard). We use both Firefox 11.0 and Safari 5.1.5. Browsers When we print multiple pages from an article, the first pages prints out (and shows in Preview) a smaller size font then the rest of the pages from the same article. We have tried various tests (resetting the printer, reinstalling the latest HP software, reinstalling each of the browsers, running Permissions),

but so far, this problem continues to occur. We have also used both a USB and a Network connection.

This has only been occuring when we print articles directly from various web article pages (PDF files print fine as do other printed items that are downloaded)

Any input on this greatly appreciated.

Thank you

When FF is opened in the "background" the Desktop Icons work the way there suppose, which is what has

been fooling us - at times, we do not realize that FF is still opened when the Desktop Icons work and we think we are back to normal.

But, no. The Blank page did not make any changes. We do not have FF in the Dock, we have an Alias

on the Desktop that we click to open it.

Nothing, the Icon just sits there on top of the FF Alias. I just made a test on my Profile of FF and the

same thing happens.

Actually, the Desktop Bookmarks/Icons are acting as though there a FF alias, as there opening to the same Start Page that FF opens to. It's as though each of the Desktop Icon/Bookmarks are somehow attached to FF it'self rather then to a web page.

Tried another experiment.

I switched the default browser to Safari - and now when I open the Desktop Icons/Bookmarks they do

go to there corresponding web sites.

So, the problem seems to be with FF and it's Start Page, for whatever reason (and I would very much like to get this solved) no mater what web page the Link/Shortcut/Desktop Bookmark is supposed to be attached to, it takes us to the FF Start Page.

I even tried switching back to an earlier version of FF (8.1), but the same thing happens.

As my memory get active with all this, I had the same problem with my Thunderbird e-mail - any web

link that I got in an e-mail took me to my FF Start Page. I'm now using Thunderbrows, so I no longer

have that problem.

There is eveiently something programed into FF that causes the Start page to come up - now, if I could figure out how to get around that.
