how to set wifi as priority over 3G

I have Ipad 3 with wifi and 3G. I want to set the priority that the ipad connects to the wifi network when available (home/work/whatever) rather than use the 3G data connection. I know the 3G can be switched off manually each time, but was hoping there was a way to set the priority.

All help appreciated.

iPad, iOS 5.1

I don't think you're correct about that. The issue is with 3G taking priority DURING STANBY/SLEEP. As soon as you wake up the phone, then yes within like 2 seconds it's connected to WiFi. But during my day at work or at home where I am always connected to wifi, I can get up to 10-12MB of use in a day of 3G. That can only happen if it's using the 3g data while in standby. Also, when I just wake up the phone, i can see it says 3G and within 1-2 seconds it changes to WiFi. So I actually have to turn off Cellular Data every day when I get to work and when I get home so I don't waste my data, otherwise I go over my limit. So annoying.
