Same here. On iPad, iPhone, MacBook and iMac. Tried 3G and two different wifi networks. Tried two different apple accounts.
Add another to the long list. Trying to buy songs. Can't.
C'mon Apple, don't you want my money??
For the past 5-6 hours, I have not been able to purchase apps on my iPhone 4S, my iPhone 3GS or my iPad2. All three have the latest updates available. This is ridiculous. What is going on?
Hours and hours later its still not working on any of my devices. Of course, there is no word from Apple about this outage. Apple, you are PATHETIC. Learn some customer service skills. If you know your system is down, stop acting like everything is cool and working normally. You make me want to take all my business some where else.

Same problems with Dutch Store. Account on US Store works fine however. Seems not all accounts are affected? Looks like security issue.
Funny how the support text do not speak of an outage of servers/service on Apple's side. The error is always at the user's?
When Apple finally get the thing working again, so many people are going to be downloading updates and apps that its likely to be very slow... I wouldnt count on it being usable anytime soon.
I too was experiencing this for hours. Nothing seemed to work. I tried rebooting, etc. What eventually worked for me...
1. Go to Settings/App Store
2. Access your account
3. You'll notice your account info is missing your credit card's secure code.
4. Add your card's secure code
5. Press Done and back out of the settings app
It didn't seem to do anything initially but within 5 minutes the 4 apps I had been trying to update all day finally downloaded.

guys if you don't have a credit card/ don't want to put it in just on the itunes store click on your account at top right. click on billing info, click on none, then click on done, try downloading something, then put in the security questions, and poof! you can download apps again

I got the same problem twice changed the password and credit card and still not work, today i tadried to download again an NOW I'LL BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING just like that, it seems that the only solution with itunes store is to be patient, dont get desperate, have a grat one.

No need to update anything, it seems to be working for everyone now, of course no word from Apple on what happened... Just had to be patient... Now, don't get me wrong, issues happen all the time, things go wrong etc. but great customer service Apple in admitting there is an issue let alone advising customers of an outage....I
