The new ipad personal hotspot doesn't worked...(Malaysia)

Hi, i bought a new ipad with wifi 4g 32gb yesterday. I am facing problem when i try to set my new ipad as a hotspot. I have tried with my celcom simcard and I can't find any personal hotspot setting in my ipad , how could like that?

Somemore, i was confirmed with the salesman that the personal hotspot function sure can work for the new ipad that i buy. But UNFORTUNATELY the new ipad was failed with that. I am so DISSAPPOINTED....can i get refund for that?

If i knew the new ipad cannot function as a hotspot, i am sure i will not buy it !!

@kopitiam83, that explains. Mine is still Telkomsel 12.0 and no update yet from the general screen. I guess I'll ask and wait for apple to update the carrier setting.

My iOS is also 5.1.1

Celcom 12.0 and didn't pop up any windows to ask me update when I click general-about

Go to SETTINGS, then click GENERAL and then choose NETWORK and PERSONAL HOTSPOT and slide it to ON.

Well, I m using celcom and still doesn't appear the word "personal hotspot" in the network setting as my celcom still is celcom 12.0 and didn't have any upgrade option for me......

Me too, just bought digi sim card cut into micro sim and using it online though my new ipad..try the way showed and reset and APN stil, the same. No personal hotspot. My friend told me that if a country iphone supporting hotspot then ipad will have same funtion as well..

Question is who should we call now? Apple Malaysia or Digi pr Celcom or how

Hey everyone, this is a bit of an unofficial workaround, but following these instructions (http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/03/how-to-get-personal-hotspot-working-on-new-aus sie-ipad-right-now-without-jailbreaking/) I was able to add Personal Hotspot to my new iPad without any problems. Hope this helps.

I think is celcom or digi problem since maxis users were solved the problem.....

Telstra user in Australia, but technically there is no reason why it shouldn't work for any other carrier.

so now confirm only maxis and umobile work for hotspot

maxis user just updates the carrier

umobile user set the apn to MY3G and internet tethering set to MY3G

i went to the airtel customer care branch. i have an Airtel connection. instead of the carrier name he typed 'airtelgprs.com' on both the places and it worked!!!!
