my ipod nano wont sync to my itunes
iPod classic, iOS 5.0.1
i am having the exact same problem as everyone else. except when i plug my ipod into the computer i get files popping up on my computer and then it switches to itunes and shows the "ipod found but can't be synced bla bla bla" there is no ipod showing on the left or the right of itunes. Its been 3 hrs trying to work this out and its ******* me off. I put songs on it yesterday, then i did the update and now it won't work. ive uninstalled an reinstalled same thing.
Same problem with my 6 year old Nano 3rd generation iPod. I went the "Restore iPod" route and it gave me an iPod software update to down load. It took about 10-15 minutes to download it but after the update and installation, I was able to sync with no problem. So it seems different iPods are having the same problem but needing different fixes.
Not sure if you are still having synch issues, but I just solved mine. My windows 7 runs a 64 bit. I uninstalled all componants of the itunes version I had and reinstalled I tunes for 64 bit. Fixed it immediatly.
Determine if your computer is a 32 or 62 bit. If it is a 64 bit, there is a special i tunes for 64 bit. I had the same problem until I used the 64 bit version. then it worked perfectly. Would have save me hours of time if I had know this. Hope it helps.
This worked for my nano:
1. Uninstall the following: itunes, apple application support, apple mobile device support and apple software update.
2. Restart.
3. Reinstall iTunes.
Hope this works for the rest of you!
exactl what i did, thanks! then installed the correct version of i tunes for my os. worked like a charm!
