iTunes Match Crashing at Step 3 (won't upload)

I've been using iTunes Match for quite some time now but the last few weeks, maybe longer, it crashes at step 3 where it tries to upload anything that wasn't automatically matched. There are only 2 songs that it tries to upload, but each time it crashes. This is the error report:

Before iTM gets to the 3rd step, click the Stop button and remove the two trouble-files from the library. Quit iTunes, then relaunch it and let iTM complete the process. Then add the troublesome files back to the library one at at ime and let iTM try to process them. Post back and let us know how it goes.

Having the same problem here. 12000 songs matched, 4000 to upload and crashes on Step 3 within the first 5 files every time. If it's a file incompatibility issue you'd think the software could choose to skip the file and move on to the next without taking down the whole program.

In addition to that problem, I use playlists to manage all my music and for some reason iTunes Match duplicated about half my playlists and the new ones were incomplete.

I'm currently looking into the possibility of getting a refund as this service still feels too beta.

Faisane, I just now got the error message you described: "iTunes Match is matching a library from another computer. Only one library can be matched at a time. If you continue, the other iTunes Match session will be stopped and this computer's library will be matched instead."

I'm not sure what's going on with that, either. I just posted a new discussion about it... Will let you know if i make any progress...

Re the large files I have loads so still trying a work around. Am getting all the small files on via a new work around.

1. Sort library by artist then sort by imatch status 2. Leave any big file over 30mbs mins long. 3. Find the next short track in the listing. 4. Right click and create an aac version 5. This then has the status waiting. 6. Highlight from that track down thru the list until.you get to another long track. 7. Right click and from the.drop down click add to icloud. 8 the tracks then upload no problem. 9. Bypass the long track and repeat the process all.over again.

Eventually I will only be left with long tracks which I can try one by one.

I also had this problem, and it also seemed to be associated with trying to upload large audio files (over one hour in length).

I wasn't able to "fix" it (a fix would mean iTunes is able to upload these files to the cloud without crashing), but I was able to work around it by deleting these big tracks from my iTunes library. Having deleted these tracks, iTunes no longer crashes.

Of course, this means that I cannot add these tracks to iTunes match, which *****.

This is the second serious problem I've experienced with the reliability of iTunes match since I signed up a couple of weeks ago. Pretty poor for a paid service. At this rate, I can't really see myself renewing next year.

(Also, for most of today, I wasn't even able to post this message to these support forums, as I kept getting long paudses followed by 'maintenance' messages when trying to log in. Are Apple sleepwalking into some sort of reliability crisis?)

Wow, I've just noticed that one of the words I used in my previous post here has been censored!

For reference, it was not an especially rude word. I guess this forum's filter is extremely sensitive.

The general meaning I intended from the censored sentence was that it's a great shame and inconvenience that I cannot add some of my tracks to iTunes Match because of yet another reliability problem with this paid service.
