iMessage not working on the new iPad. it keeps asking me to give it my password after I've already given it.

I have the same problem with my Apple ID on iMessage on my iPad. I can tell you though that your iMessage log in info should be the same as your Apple ID. They aren't separate things that you sign up for.

I have ben using Imessages for over a year now and suddenly the IMessage has prompted me for the Apple ID password. Now I can sign in to the the store with my apple ID but the same ID and password doesnt seem to work on Imessages. It keeps ignoring and saying there is either the username or password wrong in the submission.

For the same details used in the store and in the Imessage for over a year now, I wonder why this is heppening. I logged out and restrated etc but it just refuses to sign me up with what I have been using all along. Is there any suggestion

This is exactly my problem. My email and password work on the App store on my iPad, and on my iPhone but not for iMessage on the iPad. It keeps prompting me to put in my password... Even after I reset it, it still says it's incorrect.

Sound like my problem - my Apple ID sign in works for the App Store, FaceTime and iMessage on someone else's iPad, but I can't get into iMessage on my iPad. I think this started as soon as I updated to 6.1.
