Easwiest way to know id A1314 is on/off is the press the Caps Lock key.
If Caps Lock LED comes on the KB is on. If not the KB is off.

The problem is that the light goes off three seconds after the keyboard turns on and there is no way to know if it is on or off after that. Does the keyboard turn off automatically?
You can see if the keyboard is still on if you check the settings for Bluetooth and see if your keyboard is still connected.
I use the rechargeable batteries from Apple, so I have always a pair of batteries left in the charger if those in the keyboard would give up. But most of the power is used while you're typing, not in standby.
I agree with the above. Why not just have a slide switch like on the bottom of the apple wireless mouse or like the slide switch on an iPhone?
Which keyboard? If the Apple BT keyboard, presse the button on the right side until the light goes off. If you psh it and the light goes on and then starts to blink you just turned it on. I just tried on mine.
Best answer. You shouldn't have to got to your settings just to find this info our. I love Apple's designs, but they really need to rethink this one. It shouldn't be so hard to see if your keyboard is on or off. And it shouldn't be so hard to figure out this work around, regardless of how easy it is. Thanks John255.
To turn off, press and hold the on/off button on the side, until the green light switches off.
To turn on again, press the button until the light comes back on again.
Worked! Thank you for the advice
You're welcome 🙂
Best (fastest) tip of all! Thanks!
