And that's why thousands of business users will start to look elsewhere for tablets that can actually provide "productivity" as my company now is.
It is good app. But I don't understand why Cupertino people could make same in Mail-app
- You could send files to mail app lien open in another..
- Select file in mail app similar to selecting phote or video
Good points "unsatisfied_user". But iOS is not completely closed. The Mail app coders elected to allow photo attachments but not other attachments. Mthere is nothing inherently more secure about photo attachments; ALL files and operating systems are penetrable.
In the app which has the file, if you can choose to email the file, a new email message will be created with the attachment. You can then copy the attachment and then paste it into your email message. And you can do that with multiple files.
I've done it with a couple of .doc files stored in Stratospherix File Browser app.
Agree, this is exactly what I need! I want a simple process to be able to use my iPad to send emails with attachments without going from APP to APP.
CAnt Apple just add 'insert doc' like they the 'insert photo' option? Much simpler than trying to work out which App does what.
My favourite app for opening & attaching multiple docs/files to emails is Goodreader. To select multiple files at once, you just tap & hold one of the documents until it turns green with a checkmark. Then all the other documents will show a box that can be ticked as well. Once selected they can all be sent together via email.
Thank you, your response helped me with my concern. 🙂
Apple's Mail app cannot do it (except with photos and videos in iPad's Photos app) but Google's Gmail app can, with a little help from Google Drive. Install and login to Gmail (https://appsto.re/my/iRBmz.i) & Google Drive (https://appsto.re/my/Z2yrE.i) apps on your iPad. Save/upload your files from your third-party apps to Google Drive. A lot of apps allow saving directly to Google Drive eg TouchDraw, CamScanner etc which I use a lot. Apple's Pages app can 'Send a Copy' to Google Drive (also to Box, Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive etc).
In Gmail,
1- Open your received email;
2- Tap Reply;
3- Tap Attach (paperclip icon);
4- Select 'Insert from Drive';
5- Navigate to and select file(s) to be attached from your My Drive, and
6- Send...
Real files are inserted and attached to the email, not just a link to them. Might work too with Microsoft Outlook app in combination with OneDrive but I have not tried yet. Apple should make attaching ANY files to email replies work, at least, between Apple Mail and iCloud. Better still between Apple Mail and a few well known cloud storage such as Box, Dropbox (https://db.tt/10Ffumpm), Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.
Oops, sorry...
Could be just a link is attached, not the real file.
