How to manually eject a disc?

Does anyone know how to manually eject a disc? I tried booting with the trackpad button down, but nothing. I don't even get a grey screen, just a black one. It sounds like the disc spins up, but nothing on the screen.

Please help!

MacBook Pro 15/2.0/2GB/256/100@5400 (disc stuck in drive, won't even boot!), Mac OS X (10.4.5)

just so ppl with this issue of cd's not ejecting from optical drive, i had same issue, called apple and they ended up putting me to a "product specialist" who got a bunch of info from me and had me go through a big procedure and that agent stated this was an issue they knew about and they are trying to get more info from customers experiencing this issue so if anyone is currently having this issue, CALL APPLE!!!

Just wanted to add my voice,

I had a stuck disc. Popped it in to watch a DVD and it wouldn't come back out. I figured there must be a label of some kind that I didn't see. I read of some successes coming after software solutions and figured that there must be a software coincidence masking a hardware problem. From a prior discussion, it was determined that the heat of the MBP when not well ventilated is enough to slightly warp the case. If it warps when it's not on a level surface, the system will actually rock like a bad coffee table.

So, I let it sit on a soft chair for a bit, then sat it on a hard flat cold tile surface. Tried ejecting again today and it worked.

Not saying this is what it is (could have just been that the drive was a bit flakey) and I don't want to open it to see how the case is engineered in relation to that slot (maybe I'll check already posted pics online) but just another vector for investigation.

Firstly, I managed to get my stuck cd out by pressing F12 + Eject in OS X.

Secondly, Do be careful when your CD is labeled using adhesives or stuck on. This "major" increase in thickness may cause problems during ejection.

Thridly, don't do stupid things like inserting a Disc when u know (even if you don't) that a CD is inside the drive. ALWAYS (high;y recommend Apple include this in the manual) press the Eject button before inserting a Disc.

Fourthly, Slot-loading drives was a horrible idea. now i can't view movies from my DVD camcorders which use 80mm DVDs...

This is really horrible. It must be a problem that these new macbook pros are having. I've had mine for four days and I have a CD-R locked up in it. All I get when I start-up is a grayish blank screen and I can hear the CD spinning. This is bogus. Now I'm going to have to send off for a repair (via snail mail) to fix the problem. I am, however, going to let the computer cool off for awhile and then try ejecting it again. Otherwise, none of the above works for me.
