MBP Does not boot - USBMSC Identifier non-unique

Hi,

After a recent shutdown following an unresponsive Safari (I did a force quit followed by a normal shutdown), my MBP failed to boot up. I tried booting in Safe Mode to no avail. I also ran the Disk Utility to verify and repair the disk which also did not fix the booting issue. I ran the boot in Verbose mode and it seemed to get stuck at the following message:

"USBMSC Identifier (non-unique): 000000009833 0x5ac 0x8403 0x9833"

I did a bit of googling but did not come across anyone that had experienced the same issue. My Windows 7 BootCamp partition is running fine and thankfully I was able to recover my data. Can anyone offer any insights into this issue so that I can possibly avoid having to reinstall Snow Leopard from scratch?

Thanks,

Boris
