Apple Ipod Classic 120gb - shows 0 kb free

Greetings All,

Recently I upgraded Itunes to 10.6.1. When I connected my Ipod Classic 120gb to the computer, the message indicating the ipod was corrupt appeared on the screen. Once I ejected, the disconnected the Ipod, the data was wiped clean and shows 0 kb free.

Personally, I love my Apple Ipod product and would appreciate guidance with retrieving the hard drive. Is there possibly a glitch with the Itunes upgrade?

Thank you &

Many Blessings,

When you do a Sync or Restore, a slow USB connection will cause a timeout, and resulted in the iPod filesystem, not being finalised correctly, hence the corrupted filesystem.

So you need to Restore the iPod to rebuilt the filesystem.

When Restoring or Syncing

  1. Connect to the USB 2.0 port at the back of the PC, and dont use those port at the front of the PC and dont use any USB Hub.
  2. Disconnect all other USB devices
  3. Some Winsock have a conflict with iTunes, so disconnect from the Internet and stop the Antivirus or any plugins
  4. Dont run any other software other than iTunes, ie no email or web browser.

Have a nice day!
