Ipod Touch 4th Gen very slow

Hi ,

I have an Ipod Touch 4th Generation - 32 GB.

After upgrading it to IOS 5.1, it has become very slow. None of the apps which used to work smoothly earlier is working fine now. Every app is having glitches and it starts up late. The web browsing is not good.

Even video is played with much difficulty. Is there any solution available or is there any way to downgrade to IOS 5.0.1.

My Ipod is not jailbroken. Expecting a positive and quick reply as I use Ipod very much and nowadays I am finding it very difficult to use.

I don't know the extent of your problems, so I'll go shallow to probe some basic possiblities. Do you have lots of background apps in the multitask area (double tap home button), closing those actually may help, and rebooting the iPod does too (sometimes), if these suggestion do nothing, please state it so we can get that out of the way.

My iPod is 8GB running 5.1 currently with 3.2GB free space, it runs well, but I regularly kill background apps and reboot the device if there are any sort of annoying slowdowns.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.

Besides nerdaheart's suggestions, some uses have found that restore from backup helps too and so does restoring to factory defaults/new iPod.
