    Upgraded to ML and Safari 6, not a problem. Today Safari 6 loads some pages and not others.

    1) Cleaned out all the caches and removed website data in "Privacy" in Safari & Develop pulldown.

    2) Opened Disc utility and ran through HD's; No problems.

    3) Turned machine off.

    4) Rebooted & Reset AExtreme and cable router.

    5) Rang ISP and shouted at them - they said "Sorry".

    6) Looked at cable box and AExtreme and muttered "SORRY" and waved arms in an ABRACADABRA motion - nothing magical happened.

    7) Turned on MPro & opened safari 6.

    8) CNN loads; Hotmail- nope; Ebay - NOPE; fcp.co - YES; business website - NOPE!; Apple support pages - some(????); then CNN didn't refresh!!!!

    9) Did an upload/ download test - works fine

     

    Also 'Software update" - not working. "App Store cannot verify a secure connection with App Store" (Construction is redundant but besides...)

    iTunes Store - not working "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection timed out."

     

    FF working normally ????? Er, hello chaps & chappesses in Cupertino

     

    Moving to FF temporarily until a "fix" or solution is at hand.

    Addendum:

     

    Mail works efficiently.

    FTP agent works satisfactorily.

    Everything but Safari 6, software update & itunes store.

    Safari 6 is driving me crazy as well. The bar at the top shows it loading, but nothing shows up on the screen. I've had no problems with Safari in the past, but have been having trouble with Safari 6 since upgrading to Mountain Lion last week. I don't want to switch to firefox or chrome, but that's where I'm headed. Have tried everything on the posts I could find. Mail and everything else works fine.

    Same for me; I've always been a huge fan of Safari, even installing it on friends' PC's who needed some advice. Unfortunately, it now freezes up frequently since Lion and I've had to switch to Chrome, which is working pretty well for me. Hope Apple reads the many posts that voice these same concerns. Please let us know if a fix comes out as I'd love to switch back.

    I have been having the same problem, but may have at last found a fix. I am running Mountain Lion and an Apple Airport Extreme Basestation router along with a recent iMac. What I did was go into Network settings through System Preferences, click on Advanced, click on the DNS tab, and then the + sign under DNS servers. Then I added the Google DNS address, which is 2001:4860:4860::8888. I then dragged this address to the top of the list of DNS servers and clicked Apply. Restarted Safari and Chrome and both are now much faster on loading web pages. Hope this may help.

    Obviously the DNS settings have some impact on Safari's behavior, but changing these is not always possible - I have my machine in a large university network that disallows any other domain name services. I therefore switched off the DNS prefetching and do delete its caches regularly, but all to no avail. Safari is getting slower loading pages from day to day ... while no other browsers have this issue.

    I am also having this problem. I bought a brand new iMac two weeks ago, have updated to most recent software and Safari not always working properly. I just changed from PC to Mac and so far, first impression not that great. Hope apple release a fix for this. For now, I am going to use firefox again. Not happy

    Purchace brand new imac 27 inch. Had same problem. tech support use remote access to  try to solve problem for over a week. Finally sent the computer back for a new one. Still same issue. I was hoping to get away from all the crappy Microsoft issues by switching to mac, but am extremley dissapointed.

    Well thanks for working on this one Apple, I have just switched to Google Chrome and everything is working well.  Come on, lets see some work done to fix Safari.

    Same here.  Other browsers are fine.

    One point that might help with solving this problem if Apple ever gets their act together on this is that rezooming the window with a trackpad pinch often seems to shake Safari out of its stupor.

     

    I loved Safari.  Will change to Chrome until this is solved.... unless I discover I like Chrome better.

    Another point is... that restarting my computer solves this problem as well... however, that to me is a PITA work around... it works, but that to me is not working... also what is bizarre it that it is not freezing on all websites, just some... the main one is google, that one just simply locks it up and sends safari into a coma... but as GOOG is frozen I will click another bookmark and boom there it is, another... boom there it is... back to GOOG... comatose. At first I thought it was the particular websites, but my other browsers work fine... I now find myself using chrome more and more... but I really want my safari back... come on Apple, spend some of that iphone money and get it fixed.... XP

    Yes I have this problem too. I suspect it happened after I downloaded a SW update on/about 26/9/12. Driving me crazy, seems to happen on most pages I open.

    Such company should be putting efforts on post purchase survices man. With all this enormous cash flow, all customers should be satisfied with their post purchase experience. I believe that we paid quality prices Apple... What's happening?

    My ISP sent a tech today who loaded Firefox, that at least has given me another browser. He says he has had a number of Mac users this last couple of weeks with the same problem since they loaded updated SW fir Safari. My next step is a call to Apple hear what they recommend. Wish me luck

    Good luck! Don't forget to update up! You know, I think I have paid extra for the phone service or something like that when I purchased my MacBook Pro this year, I'll give them a call too and see what they say.. =]
