Wonky in the middle?

May be it's me - that I may not be used to staring at Laptop LCDs.....

but does your display seem to be sort of wonky in the middle?
Mine looks like there is some sort of a gentle MOUND in the middle of the screen - so when I look at the edges of the screen to compare, the edges look like there are strange CURAVATUREs to them..... no?

If I move my eyes around the screen quickly enough, it feels like I am in a fish bowl.......

Anyone out there seeing this strange feeling, sort of similar to that weird 3-D sensation?

Well I can only sit as far back as my arms would let me! Well, I mean I can't be sitting too far away - that would be uncomfortable for my typing position to be "reaching."

Although your "oval shape" thing makes sense, it's not a very happy explanation, since I paid over $3000 for this thing....... don't get me wrong, it's a nice machine, but I still think that the Flat Panels like on the iMac are much clearer and are better because they are "flatter."

24Golfer, when Apple released the hi res PowerBooks, they suffered less viewing range than previous no hi res PowerBooks. It's much worse on the 17 hi res PowerBook that the 15 PowerBook. I can't say for sure, but I'd bet it's something to do with the higher res and brighter screens. After using both the 15, 17 PowerBook and the MacBook Pro (returned), I've learned to live with it.
