This is what Philips say...
Carrie: Hello and good evening
Alex: Hello how are you
Carrie: Ok do you have a Android Fidellio Docking speaker?
Carrie: I am fine
Alex: I have 42PFL7603D/10 TV
Carrie: Thank you
Carrie: Ok you apple is not working wity your TV
Carrie: which apple product do you have?
Alex: I just bought an AppletTV, which works fine on my Panasonic TV in one room, but in our main room - your TV says Unsupported Video Format
Alex: Its AppleTV (3rd Generation)
Carrie: Ok it will mean it is not supported
Carrie: Apple products will have it's own software and will have file formats our TV will not support
Alex: that's not good!
Carrie: but can work with other brands of TV's
Alex: Philips are not compatible with Apple TV
Carrie: as it depends on the arrangement Apple have
Alex: Wow
Carrie: with certain manufacturers
Carrie: the items we make for iPod/Apple products
Carrie: are our docking systems
Alex: yes, I have a soundbar from you with the ipod connector
Carrie: They are in charge with which brands and products will work with their products
Alex: is there *no* way I can make it work with my ambilight TV then
Carrie: yes that is right
Alex: that is bad for Philips, and bad for me
Carrie: No the TV was not made to work with Apple products, however some of our TV's will work via USB with MP3 players
Carrie: as they are different type of audio product and can store normal
Carrie: support files
Carrie: OK as advised
Carrie: as IPod is an Apple product
Carrie: they have made the item with files which not all TV's can support
Carrie: and so you will need to speak with them as to why it not supported by all type of TV's
