How do I find the iTunes64.msi file for my iTunes on Windows 7?

iTunes64.msi is missing and I can't update or uninstall my iTunes without that file. Is there any way to either download it or find it? This is the message that pops up when I try looking for it.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" User uploaded filethingy on the Major Geeks page):

http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.

Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

try using the new version located here: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

Run the Uninstall solution, once its finished, it should remove the bad registry key for the old install of iTunes, then run the Apple Software Update or run a manual install of iTunes and it should fix the problem. I just did this now, on my computer, and it fixed it, as my itunes64.msi was missing too.

I am having similar problems so I followed the directions on both of these posts and when I try to reinstall iTunes I keep getting the message

could not open key: UNKOWN/Componentes\32A7D634EB632D11CABB00087CCFBB48\AAb3A04886C41854C9A7F6D8C65 F139B. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.

FINALLY! I have tried everything the internet has to offer over the past few months. Nothing has worked to solve this problem, until now.

MS Fixit - Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled has cured my problems :-)

It took half an hour for my pc to go through the registry, but then it was fixed. I installed itunes 10.7 and then did an update to 11. I am so happy, after hours and hours of dead ends, to finally have this fixed!

There is no workaround that will work. The file is deleted if you cleaned out your temporary installation folders. the file is always located in your TEMP folder which no one can access without going thru a long process of trying to find which TEMP folder has the file. What works for me, if your iTunes is fine and works, don't change anything until a newer version comes out which automatically erases any older version. I.E. iTunes 9 to iTunes 12. iTunes 12 will automatically install and erase the older version and you should have a working program. Just remember that from iTunes 9 to iTunes 12 it will look completely different as the interface has changed completely! Never change any of the files and if upgrading from Apple Software Upgrade doesn't work, use you Admin account and let the newer update overwrite the older file. Never try to repair your itunes if you cleaned out your TEMP folder or you will get the missing file when it tricks you into thinking its fixing it.

This is what I always do, copy and paste the link of the folder iTunes is looking for iTunes64.msi once you upgrade to a newer version like 12.0.2 from 12.0.1 open that folder immediately after you install the file and it works. Copy the iTunes64.msi file and put it in your iTunes folder so whenever you do need to fix it, its always there. You only need to copy the file once because that is what its looking for, the older version to give you the newer version.

I have a fix that should work on all Windows machines. Go to Apple and download the iTunes64Setup.exe file. Despite the exe extension, this is an archive. Unpack this with 7Zip or your favorite Zip tool and keep track of the address. You will see that iTunes64.msi is in the archive. I have no idea why Apple's installer doesn't look for the file in its own archive when you simply try to execute iTunes64Setup.exe, but it doesn't. However, if you unpack this archive and then individually run the Bonjour installer and the iTunes installer it works. At least, it did for me.

How do I find the iTunes64.msi file for my iTunes on Windows 7?
