As the title says, I just bought my macbook pro. I'd like to reinstall Lion. However its not showing as "installed" in my app store? So How can I reinstall it?

Time Machine will only copy the recovery partition if the Time Machine drive is formatted GUID. If not formatted as such, it will not be copied & thus not restored. That's what happened.
Understood, so to remedy could I then.
1. Boot into internet recovery
2. Restore my time machine back up from today

Boot from Internet Recovery and install. That should create the recovery partition. You won't need to restore from TM unless something goes wrong.
Also, you should be aware that using a third-party NAS as a Time Machine backup destination is unsupported by Apple and may be dangerous.

if time capsules had more options and where cheaper I'd buy one... for now the NAS does far more for far less $$$

Until you need to restore and find out that your backups are unusable, as others have done.
I also have an airport extreme I could use for time machine backups over USB. but its so darn slow!
