I lost my MBP 8,3 i7 install DVD's. How can I acquire another set?
I have a urgent need to reset my MB back to factory default. I tried booting from a Snow Leopard CD, but received kernal panic errors.

Replacement disc(s) from Apple:
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
An 8.3 MBP is a late 17" 2011. These come with Lion and do not have any discs. You will have to use Lion recovery:

Ciao.
Thanks for your reply, however mine actually did not come with Lion, it's running Snow Leopard. I just called Apple and my MBP Snow Leopard recovery disks are on their way.
I stand corrected, while my MBP did ship with Snow Leopard, I am able to use the Lion Recovery (after a firmware update). I wish Apple Support would have told me this before I spent $18 on new DVD's. Anyhow, thanks for your post, I can be up and running faster now.
I rechecked and 8.3 is both an early as well as a late 2011 MBP. At least there was some value in my semi error. Good Luck.
Ciao.
