My MacBook Air keeps switching between desktop and full screen apps by itself without me doing the 4-fingered swipe. I've tried quitting various apps and restarting the laptop but to no avail. Help?

It's happening to me as well. Urgh. 11 inch 2013 with Mavericks.

EDIT: I also noticed that the "Macintosh HD" shortcut on the desktop keeps blinking. Related maybe?

I'm having the same issue, Mac mini with Mavericks...it's making it very difficult to reply to this message. Super annoying.

I have a rMBP 2012 running Mavericks and have this issue as well. Happening every 2 minutes and is becoming a major issue.

As we speak my BRAND NEW Macbook pro is switching between screens on its own. Been running Mavericks since day one. The problem has become a major issue during my fullscreen presentaions at class...This needs to be fixed ASAP. Help us out apple! My grades on the line!

I am experiencing this problem as well and it is a real productivity killer with my 13"Macbook Air.

Apple needs to provide an update to resolve this issue as it makes it almost unusable for multitaskers like myself.

I'm having the exact same problem. My MacBook Air 13" is mid 2013, running Mavericks and keeps switching from fullscreen apps to my desktop. This started to happen today, and with no aparent reason.

I have this exact problem, except I have a macbook pro.

I find this really annoying.

Is there any way to stop it?

I read from another forum that Google Drive is the culprit behind this peculiar behaviour and the solution is to disable or uninstall it. I quit the application and so far my mac seems to be behaving, although it's a little strange since Google Drive has been installed on my mac since Lion.

this can be fixed by de linking and quitting google drive. I'm assuming everybody in this thread is running google drive. this fixed it for me

Yes, I disabled the Google Drive and it's working perfectly now!

I'm testing this now (after disabling Google Drive) and it seems to be working fine. As a matter of curiosity, using the Mac with the Guest account also worked (of course, Google Drive wasn't running there either). Thanks guys!

Hey guys! I started having the same problem here and though my MBA would need a repair. And yes, this is Google Drive, I just have no idea why. Instead of uninstalling/disabling it (this is terrible as I use it a lot), it also works if you disable "Show file sync status and right click menu" in the Google Drive preferences. It has been working for me so far. Saw it in another thread here in Apple Support Communities.
