im trying to work on it because it just comes on and does nothing else right now so i need it in dgfu mode so i can get it working again. because it is fun to mess with when it works i am asking this because i googled it and it keeps booting up before it goes in to dfu mode so please help.

to put it on dfu mode first u have to turn off your ipod if u cant trunoff it so (press bothhome and sleep/wake button at same kind untill its turn off) after that let the one part of your usb cable inside ur computer and when u enter ur cable in ipos then quickly press and hold both home and sleep/wake botton and when apple logo appears leave sleep wake button but keep holding home button till its get in dfu mode
Try here:
*Hold the power button and home button at the same time for 10 seconds.
*Keep holding for 5 seconds for power button and let it go. Keep holding home button until the recovery mode message appears in iTunes.
*Click Restore iPod...
OR...
*Use TinyUmbrella to enter Recovery mode.
*If none of the problems solved, your iPod touch needs to be repair. Schedule your appointment.
I have a iPhone 4s. I have been using it normally - never jailbroken. I updated to ios7 last night and today my phone has been stuck in recovery mode. Tiny Umbrella will only make the apple logo appear for a couple seconds but then it reverts right back to the iTunes logo with USB connecting to it. Anyone able to help? I am trying to get photos, contacts, etc off the phone, whereas iTunes just wants to restore everything and wipe it clean in order to get things working again.

to put your ipod to dfu mode press the home button and the power button at the same time but ignore the power gesture in the screen keep pressing until apple logo appears then release the power button but keep pressing the home button and wait for 3 seconds and then release the home button key and then you are in dfu mode
