Problem with connecting camera

I suggested trying Image Capture, located in the Applications folder. I've not heard of Image Transfer 2 - this sounds like it could be a Nikon applcation.

I have a number of Canon cameras and all will show the photos on the memory card, regardless of whether the camera uses CF or SD cards. So as Peter has stated, this does not sound like an Apple issue but more to do with the Nikon.

This is happening to me too.

I had Finder open when I first connected my D800. For a brief second or two, my D800 appeared in the tree in the left of the Finder window. However, then it disappeared. I rebooted, reconnected, disconnected etc etc all to no avail.

My overall conclusion (along with a bunch of other non-related Finder issues) is: Finder is pretty pants. An embarrassment even for such a big company like Apple.

As a work around, you can use the Nikon Transfer software to transfer some of the files. However, if you are recording both Raw and Jpeg, you will only see Raw listed and thus Jpeg will not be transferred. I have since used ACDSee, which does see my D800 connected. It is, however, pretty slow at transferring.

It's just annoying that we pay through the nose for Apple products expecting the basics to work at a very minimum, and we can't even pick up the peripherals in the file manager. A joke really.
