May 10, 2012 5:11 PM in response to Nickhenrysby basenjietty,Same problem - The hospital used to hire out dongles - now ceased - thus I don't think that is your iPads' fault - get back home and wifi will work. Get well soonest

May 10, 2012 5:19 PM in response to Nickhenrysby Texas Mac Man,Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

May 17, 2012 8:12 PM in response to Nickhenrysby rs1030,I have the same issue. I did the latest iOS update and now no wifi at the house on ipad. Had no issues before the update. 2 iphones and an 2 ipods plus 2 windows laptops all connect to the internet over same wifi no issues. So I know it is not the router or network. What gives? I can see the network and it acts like it is connecting but does not.

May 17, 2012 8:15 PM in response to Nickhenrysby Diavonex,1. Have you tried rebooting router?
2. Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Have you tried changing the security settings on router e.g. WEP, WPA, WPA2

May 17, 2012 9:41 PM in response to Diavonexby rs1030,Yes, I rebooted router. All other devices still connected...no ipad
Yes, reset network settings on ipad. I even went as far as backing up ipad and restoring it. Still no connection.
Yes, It was set to WPA2 then I went to no security and the ipad saw it but it did not connect.
Trying to figure out if there is a way to go back to previous version. Not a happy camper right now.

Jun 13, 2012 6:32 PM in response to Nickhenrysby Pistolpete8,I upgraded my OS to 5.1.1 the day it first came out.
Now, weeks later, right as I'm playing a multiplayer game online, my wifi dies.
The iPad tries to scan for nearby networks, but doesn't pick up a single one...
The 'Choose a Network' is endlessly searching for a network.
I've turned wifi on/off.
Reset All Network Settings.
Reset and Erased all Content.
I'm lost.
The wifi antanea must have burnt out because it has been working flawlessly up to this point with the newest OS.

Jun 14, 2012 10:54 AM in response to Nickhenrysby mom_of_3,I also have the same problem. All other devices connect to my wifi with no problem. IPad 2 suddenly cannot connect to the wifi. Would rather not restore the ipad to factory settings, if possible. Anyone having any luck fixing the problem???

Jun 14, 2012 1:20 PM in response to Nickhenrysby Pistolpete8,Just got back from Apple Store. They verified it is a hardware issue and not software related.
I now have a 'remanufactured' iPad 2, which to me means refurbished.
Bummer, but at least I have connectivity again.
I'm def going to purchase the apple care warranty because my 1 year warranty is almost up, and the repair would have cost me $249.
Good luck.
